About College of Staten Island

The College of Staten Island, or CSI/CUNY, is one of the 11 senior colleges in the City University of New York, and it is located in Staten Island, which is a borough of New York City, in the US state of New York, with a population of more than 490 000 inhabitants, making it the least populated of the five boroughs.

CSI/CUNY was established in 1976 and was `born` from the merger between Richmond College (opened in 1965) and Staten Island Community College (opened 1956). It offers its students, today, programs in the liberal arts and sciences, and professional studies, that lead to bachelor's and associate's degrees, including master's degrees in 16 professional and liberal arts and sciences fields of study, also participating in doctoral programs of The City University Graduate School and University Center in biology, computer science, chemistry, physical therapy, nursing, and physics.

Athletics

CSI/CUNY's athletic teams are known as the Dolphins and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are French Blue and White.
